Zero Hedge: Russia Claims It Captured Trump's "Nice And New And Smart" Missiles After Syrian Strike

Two of President Trump’s “nice and new and smart” cruise missiles were recovered non-detonated by the Syrian Armed Forces on April 14, one day after the US, the UK and France fired more than 100 rockets into Syria according to the Russian TASS new agency. The U.S.-led missile strike targeted what they assumed were Syrian chemical weapon facilities in response to the April 07 gas attack in the Syrian city of Douma.

And now the reverse engineering of America's "new and smart" technology can begin: an unnamed source within the Syrian military confirmed to TASS that the cruise missiles were sent to Russia on April 18.

'If the Syrian government had retrieved two U.S. cruise missiles intact, they would be broadcasting images of these missiles to everyone.'

They have been broadcasting images of the cruise missiles to anyone who paid attention. But you mostly aggregate neocon news outlets, not Syrian government news outlets. Hence you were unaware.

They're French missiles, not American, by the way. They have 'MBDA' written on their parts. MBDA is the manufacturer of the French cruise missile 'MdCN' (Missile De Croisière Naval).

The French admitted to failing to launch (at least) three MdCN from one of their frigates, in the Syria attack. Technical fault. Had to use a backup frigate to launch MdCN, instead.

One of their SCALP air-launched cruise missiles failed to launch from the French Rafle jet that carried it, too. 10 missiles attached to the jets. Only 9 launched.

MdCN is an evolution of SCALP. The original MdCN name was 'SCALP Naval'. Seems entirely plausible that it's duff missile technology, the two missiles flew into terrain, and the SAA retreived them.

The images of the wrecked missiles bearing the 'MBDA' tags are consistent with the approximate dimensions of the MdCN – especially the diameter of the fuselage, sized to fit the French 'Sylver' VLS used on newer French warships.

BTW it took two minutes to pass the 'I'm not a bot' test. Lousy user-friendliness.

I always scan the Syrian government news website https://sana.sy/en/
But they are only mentioning capturing Israeli and U.S. missiles from the rebels. No images of coalition missiles being shown.
If you can provide a link to these reports it would be appreciated.
