U.S. Ret. Maj. Gen. Robert Scales: 'U.S. Should Start Killing Russsians To Turn The Tide In Ukraine'

Sputnik: 'Start Killing Russians': Outrageous Outburst by Fox News Military Analyst

A retired US major general thinks an American intervention in Ukraine should involve the spilling of Russian blood.

Robert Scales, a retired US major general and a Fox News military analyst, provided his view on the US involvement in Ukraine, describing it as a “game, set and match” situation; “the only way the US can have any effect in the region is to start killing Russians,” he stated.

Maj. Gen. Robert Scales had been invited to the Lou Dobbs Tonight program on Tuesday to comment mostly on the fight of Iraqi forces against Islamic State near the city of Tikrit.

WNU Editor: I know that all of us are guilty of saying something stupid at least once in our lives .... and God knows I have been guilty of that more than once .... but this remark by U.S. Ret. Maj. Gen. Robert Scales is a real doozy of a stupid remark/comment. If what he wishes for comes true .... and there are U.S. soldiers in Ukraine killing massive numbers of Russian soldiers .... I can say with 100% confidence that a state of war will then exist between Russia and the U.S. .... and the casualty rates will then be beyond astronomical.

WNU Editor,

Welcome to Neo-Con crazy,

These are the people who run/ran the USMilitary, from Breedlove who believes in the End of Days, and that it's a good Christians resposibility to bring it about,

To Old Cold Warriors who want to Kill a Commie for Christ.

But... he is, essentially, right. It is a stupid thing to say on TV because TV is fundamentally dishonest, but it is true that the only way the Americans can have real impact on the events on the ground is an armed intervention. Anything else they can do is at best too little, too late and will only take effect months if not years later; at worst, just a PR move to make them look like they're helping Ukraine without actually being involved.

Nor would it necessarily mean a state of war. There is no state of war between Russia and Ukraine, after all, or between any number of other countries that America has effectively attacked over the years and the US.

Granted, it is still a good thing that the Americans are not willing to do an effective intervention of that sort. But if they wanted one, of course it would involve killing the other side.

This is sort of like the anti-Obama. Obama never dares say that his country's enemies happen to be Muslim and gets a lot of hate for it online. And this is the reason why: any such frank, tactless, impolitic statements will get one into even more trouble today, not just online.

An armed intervention is not in our best interests. Period. Unless your goal is to initiate a nuclear exchange between the US and Russia.

Ukraine is in the Russian sphere of influence, it has been since the earliest days of the Slavic people (Kyiv Rus). We can make it hurt, but we cannot and should not directly intervene.

Anyone on this board who thinks it would be a good idea should make sure they stay away from sharp objects.
